"You know the failing of our public school system
and you must know that the most important
educational courses that establish a firm
foundation that enables your children to manage
in later life are no longer being taught at the
level needed, requires your exceptional efforts to
make sure your children are taught the essentials--
reading, writing, math, money management,
science, and our economic systems--even if you
have to teach it to your kids yourself."
It may already be too late to try and break the century long erroneous fixed mindset of physicians that business knowledge has little or no value to physicians. Physicians now in private medical practice are just going to have to put up with the increasingly severe consequences resulting from the lack of essential business knowledge. In early days under the umbrella of rare competition for medical patients, knowing business principles wasn't much help for income or prestige.
That consequence has long disappeared. Now, without business knowledge, private practices will flounder from the competition, fee restrictions, medical practice mandates, and medical patient adversity. Nearly all private medical practices that fail, fail because of financial problems.
Most can't be helped without working with a physician that has an open mind to business advice. This enigma permeates the medical profession. I suspect as most physicians in private medical practice get old, they begin to see what a business education could have done for them.
The same problem will continue for your children unless you take the time to encourage your kids to get business knowledge, start a business, work with friends for money, and learn the powerful advantages that goes with having money.
Get them to read books on business and marketing, send them to summer camps for junior entrepreneurs (many all over the USA), take them to business conferences with you, teach them what you know about business. Get them a mentor for business education--it's worth the cost! I
say that because college costs, a few at $80,000 a year tuition, kids moving back home for lack of self-support and job issues.
Remember, when you get old you may need to have sons and daughters to rely on for help and care. The better off they are and have become, the more likely they will have your back, all the way. Who wants to use all the retirement money for medical problems and have none left to enjoy retirement. Suppose you are never able to fund a good retirement plan altogether because your practice income is so low. What good can you do for your kids then?
Most physicians now seek employment and depend on salaries, not understanding that salaries will go much further down from what they are now. It's inevitable.
The ultimate education in your religious faith offers both you and your children a unique understanding of a way of life that allows you to understand all human interactions that result in knowing good from evil, an infallible inspiration to enjoy life to the best of their abilities, and teaches them the love that brings families together regardless of disruptive events.
Most of all they learn to handle all challenges with hope and determination and have access to the tools necessary to accomplish things that they never thought possible. The daystar channel on TV every Sunday is a profound way to listen and learn from the most elite pastors of most religions in our nation. I have watched and learned from them for the last 15 years. I regret that I never learned these things when I was in high school.
Throughout Europe over the last 5 centuries there has evolved a tighter family life because those people went through the gauntlet of financial disasters, government transitions, and terrible wars that our nation is just starting to phase into today.
You will notice that in almost all European countries and those close by them, the families live in the same homes that their ancestors have lived in for well over hundreds of years. The older people still live in the same houses with the younger people who are raising families, instead of nursing homes of old folks homes. Contrary to the American families that become spread out over our nation, their families remain close enough to maintain a persistent daily interaction, communication, assistance, and celebration events.
Likely our country will eventually evolve into the same family patterns and culture-trends as Europe has. The causes for that happening we see every day, such as...
- College education that is rapidly growing too expensive for most families to afford
- Increasing violence in the cities that's increasing.
- Cost of fuel for transportation becoming less affordable, so less travel and moving around
- Increasing pressure for ethnic and cultural groups to hang together geographically
- Increasing segmentation in societies--less hospitality
- Increasing government clashes which are augmented by ineffectual international organizations that lose their influence and power to mediate world conflicts or prevent them.
----Professional Probe----

"It took me 70 years to find out what my
real purpose in life was. I discovered that
most medical professionals sacrifice too
many things to become a top physician."
